With your support we can give working animals and the people who depend on them a better future.

Some people think of SPANA as an animal charity that helps people. Others think we are a people charity that helps animals.

SPANA's CEO Jeremy Hulme and other staff members write from the front lines of our work, taking in everything from the Chelsea Flower show to the drought in Chad.

Office Volunteers

Here at the SPANA head office, we often need volunteers to help us during busy times. For example with envelope stuffing or inputting information onto our database. If you have some spare time, then this is a great way to put that time to good use and help working animals abroad.

SPANA’s head office is located in central London, close to Chancery Lane and Russell Square tube stations. You can view the map here.

For further information please contact us.

Vet Volunteers

All staff who work in our veterinary clinics and education centres abroad are locally employed. This provides valuable employment for the local community, whilst increasing their skills base. We do occasionally have UK (and other) volunteers going out to help for short periods, but please note that such volunteers must be qualified vets.

We understand that there are a lot of people quite willing and able to come and help in our overseas clinics, however employment legislation and the regulation of veterinary work by such organisations as the Moroccan Order of Veterinary Surgeons strictly prohibits us from having volunteers other than veterinary surgeons with recognised degrees and professional registration.

If you are a qualified vet and would like further information about volunteering abroad, please do contact us.
