New - December 2007 - SPANA in Mauritania

Find out how our campaign to end the cruel beating of donkeys in Mauritania is progressing. We've some new footage of our special headcollars being fitted to these ill-treated donkeys, which mean they can be steered humanely for the first time in their lives.

New - November 2007 - SPANA in Tunisia

Everyone thinks Tunisia is a warm, sunny place but this new footage shows the freezing conditions in which our dedicated staff treat the working animals so important to the people in rural areas of the country.

November 2007 - SPANA in Eastern Chad

A SPANA team has just returned from a second trip to Eastern Chad having visisted the area at the invitation of the United Nations. There are real problems affecting the animals belonging to the many refugees who have fled Darfur, and SPANA has been working with them to try and develop some lasting solutions. (Apologies for lack of sound on this segment - we will be editing it again next week and hope to resolve the problem!)

April 2007 - SPANA in Tunisia

A short video featuring one of our oldest countries of operation - Tunisia - but with our brand new education bus paid for as the result of an appeal from our generous supporters. We also see our vets at work in some of the souks, and some of the in-patients at one of our refuges.

November 2006 - SPANA in Mali

In 2007, SPANA will have a a new Chairman, Professor Derek Knottenbelt, Head of Liverpool University's Department of Equine Studies. Join him and Jeremy Hulme in Mali as they explain our work there, and how our team in the country is working hard to improve the lives of donkeys working on the rubbish heaps in Nouakchott.

November 2006 - SPANA in Jordan

SPANA's unique educational centre in the centre of Jordan's capital Amman, and our refuge and clinic in Wadi Seer are highlighted in this short film taken by Jeremy Hulme. The educational centre is particularly well-loved by schoolchildren, who learn about so many aspects of nature and conservation during their visits. You'll also see some of the in-patients at our busy clinic in Wadi Seer, including a donkey foal who seems to enjoy the attention of the camera!

Summer 2006 - In Morocco with Jim Broadbent

Earlier this year, Oscar winning actor Jim Broadbent, and a crew from "This Morning" spent a week with SPANA in Morocco. For a taste of what they saw, visiting rural souks, our refuge in Marrakech and in the High Atlas mountains, watch this short video.
