Argentina

It is illegal to use draught animals in Argentina's capital city, Buenos Aires. However, because police had nowhere to house impounded animals, this law could not be implemented. SPANA provided the funding for the Association for the Defence of Animal Rights to build a shelter for animals whose owners were being fined for their mistreatment. Here they can rest and get veterinary care if required.

Brazil

SPANA funded the construction of an animal clinic in Fortaleza, one of Brazil's poorest regions. We also helped the Associacao de Amparo dos Animals to refurbish their animal sanctuary in Diadema.

Peru

SPANA provides funding for campaigning and education, as well as treatment, to give working animals in Peru better lives and a healthier future.
