Kosovo

Following a request for assistance, a SPANA veterinary team was dispatched to Kosovo shortly after British troops arrived in the capital. We were soon treating injured and sick animals suffering from bullet wounds and other ailments.

A refuge was funded by SPANA for the many animals that were left to fend for themselves after the conflict. We rescued, treated and re-homed hundreds of stray or abandoned animals and a SPANA funded clinic treated sick and injured farm animals. We also worked with schools to encourage children to respect and care for animals that have been neglected.
