Find out everything you need to know about one of the worlds oldest animal welfare charities right here.
Founded in 1923 by two extraordinary women SPANA has grown to treat over 380,000 working animals every year throughout some of the worlds poorest comminutes in Africa and the Middle East.
Film and TV:
SPANA has been working in Africa and the Middle East for over 80 years and we have many years experience in facilitating visiting film crews in-country including the BBC and ITV and welcomes approaches from film crews and print media who wish to feature our work. We work very closely with the authorities in our countries of operation and are able to arrange filming permits if required. See some of our previous films:

Vet volunteer scheme:
SPANA is interested in speaking to commissioning editors about filming opportunities for a series following our newly-qualified UK vet volunteers / interns as they work at our refuge in Marrakech. You can find out more information about the scheme and what it involves here. We also have a promo film about the scheme made by award-winning film-maker and SPANA supporter Chris Terrill (Uppercut Films) avaliable on request.
